Quick Start Guide

This guide will walk you through setting up your first monitor and status page.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A MonitoringDog account (sign up for free)
  • At least one website or service to monitor
  1. Create your workspace

    After signing in, you’ll be prompted to create your first workspace. Give it a name that represents your team or project.

  2. Add your first monitor

    Click “Add Monitor” and enter the URL of your service. You can configure:

    • Check interval (1-60 minutes)
    • Timeout threshold
    • Expected status code
    • Custom headers
  3. Set up notifications

    Configure how you want to be notified when issues occur:

    • Email
    • Slack
    • Discord
    • SMS (Business plans)
    • Phone (Business plans)
  4. Create a status page

    Navigate to “Status Pages” and create a public page for your customers. You can:

    • Customize with your brand colors
    • Add components for different services
    • Set up a custom domain
  5. Configure on-call schedules (optional)

    Set up rotation schedules to ensure fair distribution of on-call duties:

    • Create teams
    • Define rotation patterns
    • Set escalation policies
